There is a maximum of 4 students per class (Minimum of 3 to run a class. If your class does not end up with at least 3 students I will work with you to find another class or offer you a refund).

Classes will be held at the M5 Farmhouse Studio located in Rogers, MN

Weekly classes designed to allow students more in depth learning and build on those skills from week to week

Follows the Kids Can Sew curriculum and taught by a registered Kids Can Sew instructor

Classes are 1 hr. long, once a week for the duration of the session

3 sessions are offered during the school year:
Fall Sessions: Sept - Nov
Winter Session: Jan - March
Spring Sessions: Mar/Apr. - May

Session Registration: Priority is given to currently enrolled students. After current student registration is completed, any remaining spots will be opened up to the public.

Make-Up classes are not guaranteed. Make up classes are only offered if there is an available opening in another class. Limit 1 per session.

Multiple levels: Level 1, 2, 3, Teen AND Adult available

Multiple sessions will be required to complete all 8 projects in each level/workbook.

Need to take a session off due to other activities? No problem, join back in anytime! The patterns and workbooks are yours to keep! Note: Priority registration goes to currently enrolled students. If you choose to skip a session, there are no guarantees that your preferred spot will still be available when you are ready to return.

COSTS:

Tuition is based off of:

# of weeks x $20/week

So if a session is 10 weeks, the
tuition will be $200.
**Students supply their own fabric, see below
**Books/Patterns sold separately; Level 1 books/patterns are included in new student tuition.

Kids Can Sew Workbook/Patterns are required ($45) and are included in the price of new student registration. I actually pay more than $45 with tax and shipping so this is a cost savings to you.
*Per copyright laws, every student is required to have their own workbook/patterns. Sorry, no sharing!

There is a registration fee of $20 for each NEW student. This fee goes towards the students organizing binder (yours to keep), handouts, practice sheets, sewing tools, equipment maintenance and bulk supplies (Thread, pins/needles, notions, etc.) Returning Student registration fee is $12.

Tuition includes use of studio sewing machines, sewing tools and some notions (I supply most thread, fiberfil, felt, interfacing, fusible fleece, ribbon and scrap fabric for projects, etc.)

Students are responsible for supplying their own fabric for projects and some notions (Elastic, cording, etc.) Nobody wants ME picking out thier pajama pants fabric :-) Students love the opportunity to select their own project fabric. I try my best to bundle lists so you have minimal trips to the fabric store!

See FAQ's below for more info on fabric requirements.

Q: "Kids Can Sew" Class FAQ's

How quickly will my child progress through the projects? Every student is different and encouraged to move at their own pace, but typically it takes 2 to 5 classes to complete each project. On average, the KCS workbook will take about 2 to 4 sessions to complete all projects. After Level 1 there are more levels available and books/patterns to purchase.

How much fabric/notions are students required to supply? In any given session you can expect to purchase fabric and notions (elastic, ribbon) for 2 to 4 projects. The order of projects will vary depending on what each class chooses to make, but new students always start with the 2 drawstring bags, one small and one large. From there it depends on skill level and the length of the session.

Regular non-stretchy cotton fabrics can be purchased for anywhere between $7-$12 per yard. Utilizing coupons at local craft stores is a great way to keep costs down. Sign up for retailer Apps and mailers!
